    Report by Mats Jönsson

    September 25

Today Phil Munts led a Bible study on Elijah.

    "Prophet with a Reputation"

Todays reading came from 1 Kings 18:1-18

Obadiah is apparently a very capable administrator
lProtecting these prophets is no small task
nFood and water for at least 100 people, delivered in secret to two locations

Phil asked Very interesting questions like:
lWhat is he doing working for Ahab?
Is it possible for an honest man to work for an evil boss? Can we even be called to?
    n
nAre there other examples in the Bible?

What can we learn from this passage?
nGod deals with nations, not just individuals
    nNatural disasters are sometimes punishment
-Not always, though: See Job, Luke 13:4
nCompetent, God fearing people rise to the top
    -
Sometimes they are called to “be salt and light” even working for evil men
nLike Obadiah, such workers may find special opportunities to serve God
nOur personal sin may often have painful consequences for other innocent people

Great study, warm fellowship and yummy apple pie!
